We Are
Wempower

About the Project

Wempower is a grassroots initiative transforming the lives of acid attack survivors by equipping them with the tools to regain confidence, independence, and financial stability. Founded after a personal encounter with injustice, the project focuses on vocational training, mental health support, and direct job placement to ensure survivors are not just recovering—but thriving. With 120+ women already empowered across India, Wempower is building a future where every survivor is seen, heard, and given a real chance to lead with strength and dignity.

About the Founder

Riana Gupta

Riana Gupta started Wempower after witnessing the harsh reality faced by an acid attack survivor close to her. Seeing the discrimination, isolation, and lack of support, she realized that survival was only the first step — true healing required opportunity, dignity, and community.

Determined to turn empathy into action, Riana built Wempower as a safe, empowering space where survivors aren’t pitied — they’re prepared. From fundraising bake sales to forging job partnerships, she’s been hands-on from day one, showing that real change begins with belief and boldness.

Riana continues to lead Wempower with heart, vision, and a fierce commitment to justice — proving that one person can start a movement.
